Music majors planning to transfer to a four-year institution will be required to pass a vocal or instrumental proficiency exam. Most performing musicians do not hold regular jobs as performers but work as contract entrepreneurs in the communities. Performers may also engage in performance for pay as an entrepreneur in the music field. Students may also open studios in private music teaching and approach local recording studios for recording work.
